In his beginnings as “Sanity Menon”, the path of music was a righteous one, from playing a huge amount of backyard shows, protests, bars, clubs & venues to curating countless musical projects. Finding new paths of exploration was just around the corner. Now as “Shankar Menon”, a rebirth took place, he started to break free from what was expected of him and let the music grab the wheel. Pushing his boundaries as a producer and stepping into a new world of songwriting.
Last year, he dropped “In Time We Find” as “Sanity Menon” with long time producer “OB1FOOO”. A time capsule during the huge outbreak of the George Floyd protests, he wanted to speak on the concept of unity though his eyes as a south Malayali living in Los Angeles.
As of 2023, he dropped a demo entitled “Closer” recorded in a friend’s bedroom studio setup in one take. From all digital production to recording anywhere his soul feels, he doesn’t allow rules to be set into this new approach of creation. We never know what will be next of him and knowing that brings even a greater sense of anticipation.
