This morning Ben Epand, also known as KidEyes released a reinspired cover of Bob Marley’s ‘No Woman No Cry’ featuring Lisa Donnelly. Here’s a message about the song’s release directly from the artist:
My good friend Lisa Donnelly and I were writing some songs when one day she came to me with this distinct plan of covering Bob Marley’s ‘No Woman No Cry’. As soon as we put the vocal on the track, we had something super cool in the making. We finished a rough version of the song and had talks to release it but as these things go in the chaos of life in Los Angeles, the project was put on an indefinite pause.
Lisa Donnelly was a traveler, a free spirit with a great laugh and of course an incredibly talented singer and song writer. Lisa left LA about a year and half ago on one of the many international adventures she was always taking and shortly after, I heard she had some medical issues and was indefinitely moving back home to Kansas City. In that time I learned she was suffering from Bell’s palsy (paralysis to part of the face) and with misdiagnoses she had some additional medical complications. All this put Lisa into a sad and depressed place and on April 7th, 2017 she took her own life.
Listening to her sing the Chorus, ‘No Woman No Cry’ is so tragically haunting. I wish I could have understood the horror she was suffering and tell her, “everything’s gonna be all right”.!
Miss you so much, Lisa. I know you’re blasting this tune now!  -ben
The song is streaming on all platforms and you can watch the music video on YouTube here.
Rest In Peace Lisa. x

Virgin’s latest article “How To Turn Fear Into Opportunity” with Richard Branson tells the truly unique and remarkable story of Natalie Clark.

“Early this year I was participating in a question and answer session in Glasgow with BBC Radio 1 host, Nick Grimshaw, when young Scottish singer-songwriter Natalie Clark took up the microphone to ask me a great question about fear.

I turned the tables on Natalie and invited her on stage, with an impromptu challenge to sing us a song. Facing her fears with a screw it, let’s do it attitude, Natalie wowed everyone with a totally off-the-cuff performance of her beautiful song, ‘Weakness’.” says Branson
